When Stas Namin was only 8 years old his father gave him his first camera, and he took an interest in photography. Since then he has always had a camera with him.
In 1970-s he shot his rock group The Flowers for its posters. In 1980-s during Perestroika, the first time when they let Namin travel abroad, he shot his first impressions of other countries.
In 1990-s during the Circumnavigation he made art photos of exotic places. Later he started to work in the studio and made a series of portraits and nu. Also in 1990-s he had his first personal exhibitions in Moscow Galleries. In 1998 Namin’s personal exhibition in Grand Exhibition Hall Manezh has included about 600 photos.
In 1999 - personal exhibition at the Moscow Central House of Artists.
In 2001 the State Russian Museum organized Namin’s personal exhibition in St. Petersburg and released the first catalogue of his photos.
During last years, beside photography, Namin is also working in traditional art (oil and mixed techniques).
For the first time his art works were presented in December 2006 by Bakhrushin Museum in Moscow.
In December 2007 Stas Namin personal exhibition took place at the Ministry of Foreign Affaires of the Russian Federation.
February 2008 – personal exhibition (oil painting, graphics, photos) at the Belgorod State Art Museum
