Invited by his friends, Russian cosmonauts, to witness for the first time the International Hot-Air Balloon Fiesta in Albuquerque, New Mexico, USA, Namin was captivated by the scale and emotive power of the spectacle (there were some 1000 balloons in the air at the same time) and decided to take at least a first step in that direction and organised the first festival of hot-air balloons in Moscow.
The festival featured a SNC corporate balloon made especially for the event.
The following year, a new balloon was made to Namin's design in the shape of a Yellow Submarine after the famous song by Beatles. For several years in a row, the balloon was among the most popular at the Albuquerque Fiesta. It was used by Yuri Senkevich, Alexander Abdulov, Andrey Makarevich, and other friends of Stas's.
It was there that that unique balloon was pronounced one of the most popular in the world and entered into the historical catalogue of the best balloons of unusual shape.
